June xoxo @ 5:25 PM

The summer is here! If you live in an area like me you're probably cringing at the idea of 106+ days. However I've been enjoying our 86 degrees lately, and 70s at night? Perfection! We've had very little wind at night, which has made sitting outside lovely.

I apologize that I haven't blogged in over a week. My niece was born on May 19th, and although I updated on the 21st I've been incredibly busy. However, I've been brainstorming my apartment these past two weeks.

The living room is my "catch all" room. My TV and computer reside in this room (for now) and various odd things pile up in here. Unrelated hand me downs fill it. The lack of couch, and storage makes this room very messy. Top that with computer cords, and I'm overwhelmed. I have plenty of surfaces, but no constant theme. I can't help but to look as I pass my neighbors windows, one particular neighbor has excellent design taste. It's had me really thinking over my own living room.

My dining room is not being used at the moment. It has the patio door and a giant window which makes it a nice spot, albeit a nice, unused, spot. I have a table and chairs in there, boxes from my recent move, and well.. my recycling (not very fashion forward). My recent "bright idea" is to convert that space into my "home office". This coming semester I am locked into 17 units (5 classes), and I'm going to need a place to hunker down and spend time in. It would be nice to have that space separate from my "sleeping area", so that when I'm done studying, I can "get away". It's just making that space work that'll be the challenge. The dining room table will work perfect, I think. From there.. who knows!

My last room, as always, seems to be my bedroom. My lack of furniture is due to going from renting a room to an entire apartment. So my bedroom consists of one mattress, one bookcase, and various boxes of office related things. It's unorganized and cluttered. My computer is an eye sore, but despite that, my entire desk/computer setup will probably be transferred into my bedroom. Maybe this will clear up some "fend shui" in the living room.

Here's to summer and making it me!
